Spring is here and it’s time to clean out those closets, scrub those tubs, and get your hands dirty as you welcome the new season with a fresh home. This can be an arduous task and it doesn’t help that household cleaners can be expensive and contain harmful ingredients that may negatively affect your health or the materials you use them on.
That’s why Trinity Property Consultants has compiled DIY cleaning tips to help you clean your home with everyday household items, so you can clean quickly, conveniently, and cost effectively.
Many items can be cleaned easily with the use of lemon juice. You can soak your knives in lemon juice to remove rust spots or cut a lemon in half and rub it on faucets to help remove hard water stains.
Lemon juice can also be paired with other items to create simple solutions to tedious tasks. You can combine lemon juice with borax to create a mixture that you can spread on your sink to create that clean sheen. All you have to do is rub it on and rinse it off! You can also combine lemon slices with vinegar in an ice cube tray. Once they are frozen, turn on your faucet and garbage disposal and throw a few in to help you clean and sharpen the blades.
Vinegar is another useful tool in the DIY cleaning arsenal. To clean a dirty microwave, pour vinegar and water into a bowl and heat for a few minutes. The steam will loosen all the grime so you can easily wipe it away. To remove pesky clothing stains, combine vinegar and water in a spray bottle, apply to the affected area, and use an iron to lift the stain out of the fabric.
Equal parts vinegar and dish soap in a dish wand can also be an easy way to clean your shower. By simply leaving the wand in there at all times, you can quickly scrub walls before each shower and rinse to avoid the troublesome deep scrubbing that tubs sometimes require.
We hope that these tips will help you clean your home this spring and throughout the rest of the year.
